Great location
Starting with the positives, the room (75) was freshly renovated, very luxurious, and probably the largest room we've ever stayed in (in the UK). The view over the meadow was great and only having one neighbour meant the room was very quiet. The hotel has a great location, so close to the town centre with plenty of parking available. There was plenty going on in St. Ives on a Sunday afternoon and we found a pub with live music.The negatives were that there was a role loose on the bathroom floor which caused problems with the door opening. I didn't like the step in the bathroom floor, which was a potential trip hazard especially in the middle of the night. Also the breakfast could be improved by having them made to order. I appreciate that this costs more but there's much less waste.To sum up, We've stayed here a few times before and would definitely want to return.

Five star plus service
We had such a perfect stay service was amazing.. Bed super comfy. If u can upgrade to a river veiw it's worth the extra.. We will definitely be back again. The man on reception has the best front of house service I've ever had

Our enjoyable stay at the Dolphin
We decided to come and visit for a couple of days and when I explained that I am not very mobile we were given a beautiful room over looking the river and the large common.We had a small balcony which would have been lovely to sit out on, unfortunately the man in the next room sat out on his virtually chain smoking for most of the day, even if we were in the room and we had the doors open the smoke came in.I am asthmatic and have had lung cancer so not ideal.Luckily he left the next day.It would be a good idea if there was a set smoking area away from the other rooms.The bathroom was beautiful apart from the toilet which had not been updated and would have been ideal in a children's school 30 years ago.Very uncomfortable and very small and the seat must have cost £1!.Please put in a new loo to match the stunning bedroom and the rest of the shower room.Very close to the town and lots of nice restaurants.We know that there is a lot of renovations going on and it is in such a beautiful setting I am sure you will do well and we may come back at some point.

Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 2 days prior to arrival are without charge.
Bookings cancelled within the2 days before arrival will be charged a non-refundable cancellation fee of The total cost of the booking.

General Policy

Cancellation policy:
The cancellation policy is reflected in the terms and conditions of your booking.
If the booking is cancelled before 23:59 - 2 day(s) before check-in it is free of charge less than 2 day(s) before check-in the charge is 100% of total
No shows will be charged the full price of the reservation.
Any cancellation of ongoing stays must be within the cancellation window otherwise the affected nights will be charged.

Notwithstanding any other provision the Hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation for any reason in its sole discretion and will not be liable to the customer for any damages foreseen and unseen other than for a full refund of any amounts paid.

PETS:
Well behaved small dogs are allowed at an extra fee of £25.00 per night for special appointed rooms only subject to availability. Please note we require a £100.00 refundable deposit at the time of booking to cover damage.
